Santana Grace

This decision is incredibly challenging for us. We’ve deliberated extensively, but we must remember that we can’t keep every dog in our program. Holding onto them all would reduce the time and attention we can give to our retirees, puppies, and new arrivals. With this in mind, we have made the very tough choice to find Santana a retirement home to love and cherish her as we have. I’ve posted her in the past and just wasn’t ready to see her go yet, but I am fully committed to finding her the PERFECT fit at this time. Santana has more than earned her retirement. She has been an invaluable part of our program and our family. Her presence has been a joy in our lives since she was 8 weeks old. Santana is a remarkable companion, and anyone who welcomes her into their life will be very lucky. I would prefer her family come to meet her before taking her home. There’s nothing but positive things to say about Santana.

She’s well-behaved, adaptable, and can enjoy both independent time and affectionate moments. Santana loves to nap and has always been a bit of a chunky girl, with a fondness for light exercise like walks and short runs. She adores children, both human and puppy, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is good with cats also. She is fully potty/crate trained and would never DREAM of having an accident inside. I honestly don’t even think I know what her bark sounds like, she’s so quiet! In every way, Santana is an exceptional dog. We will be very picky about her placement. Santana is in great health. She is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, recent dental, and is health tested clear. Her OFA hip prelims are “good” and elbows, cardiac, eyes are “normal.”

Dutch

Dutch has been an incredible blessing to both our program and our family. He is a loving and affectionate boy who always wants to be wherever the humans are. Dutchy is sensitive, gentle, sweet, and well-behaved.
His only bad habit is hiking when females are in heat, but that should no longer be an issue once he is neutered and no longer around in-heat females.

Dutch holds an AKC Canine Good Citizen title. He is friendly, eager to please, and a well-rounded companion. His energy level is medium; he enjoys walks, runs, hiking, and playing with toys, but he also has a good off switch and can enjoy lazy days. He loves using his nose and sniffing around, and while he is a talker, it’s not excessive or annoying. He loves to snuggle, especially if it means he can get on the couch or bed. Dutch does well with other dogs, cats, and children.

He is leash trained, potty/crate trained, and up to date on vaccinations. He does use a doggy door here.
Dutch is in great health, with health clearances from OFA for hips, elbows, cardiac, and eyes, and will be neutered before he leaves. As browns commonly do, he has faded out since his professional photos in Montana.

Adult dogs are more than likely to be very nervous upon leaving us and being introduced to a completely new lifestyle with an unfamiliar environment and new faces. What is your plan for allowing the dog to adapt to your home? * We generally go off of the 3-3-3 rule. 3 days of settling in, 3 weeks is when they start to feel more comfortable, and 3 months is when they feel like they are apart of the family. Expect them to be nervous and aloof for the first few days or weeks until they know you. Be slow with them! *
