About Lizzy:
We were looking to add a female to our program and saw this lovely cafe girl. She came home to us as a 1.5 year old from Montana and the rest is history. After her long travel from Montana to Missouri, she was nervous, scared, and didn't know what to think. After about a week or two, she decided we might not be so bad and bonded to our family quickly after. She has gifted us with years of companionship, phenomenal puppies, and she was a fantastic momma, but she is ready for the next chapter of her life: retirement!

Lizzy would thrive in a home that is quiet, chill, and calm. She is low energy and while she will go on walks, she is not interested in high level activity. She would do well as an only dog, or with 1-2 other calm, level headed dogs. Lizzy is an alpha female, so she will growl at other dogs to establish dominance upon meeting. Once they know each other, she is friendly. She has been a wonderful asset to raising puppies with her stern, but caring personality. We joke that she is a grumpy grandma on the outside and a teddy bear on the inside.
She can be shy with new people and will require some time to get to know you, but once she warms up to you, she is a lover. Lizzy is independent and can do her own thing, but equally will snuggle up on the couch and soak up all the attention. Once she is bonded to you, she is a very loyal and loving companion. While she is good with young kids, she would prefer a home with either no kids or older kids as they can get a little noisy for her at times. She would be wonderful for any kids that visit, but prefers not to live with them (lol)!
She has a safe and loving home with us until that match made in heaven person is found!
Lizzy is crate, potty, and doggy door trained.

The only notable con about Lizzy is that she gets frequent ear infections in her right ear.

Adult dogs are more than likely to be very nervous upon leaving us and being introduced to a completely new lifestyle with an unfamiliar environment and new faces. What is your plan for allowing the dog to adapt to your home? * We generally go off of the 3-3-3 rule. 3 days of settling in, 3 weeks is when they start to feel more comfortable, and 3 months is when they feel like they are apart of the family. Expect them to be nervous and aloof for the first few days or weeks until they know you. Be slow with them! *
